Little Chute Ladies’ Dart League Rules 2010-2011

1.       The League President (with consultation with the league secretary) will receive all controversy (i.e. ruling on league rules, complaints, protests, and other unusual situations that may arise).  The league secretary will be in charge of all financial and statistical matters of the league.  (Added in 2007-2008)

2.       Protest, Rules Violations, and other concerns Committee include League President, and two league regulars with one each from the men and ladies’ league, and two surrogate members, one from each league, in case of conflicting interest.  League Secretary/Treasurer will attend meetings as a non-voting member to add input and record results.

3.       One captains’ meeting each year in August (7:00 pm) with the option of the captains calling a “Special Meeting” the first Wednesday in February (7:00 pm).  These meetings are very important; and any team not being represented at these meeting will be fined $10.  Location of meeting will be determined alphabetically starting with the 2010 captain’s meeting in August.

4.       Captains are to make up games when ever possible that are needed to be re-scheduled by mutual agreement of captains before the regularly scheduled night to keep standings up to date.

5.       All Players must be of legal drinking age.  Please remember that this is a fun league, so let’s all have a good time shooting this year!

6.       Each team must consist of six (6) regular players and up to nine (9) substitutes.  Team sponsorship is $20.00 per team.  This sponsorship along with a tentative team roster (starting six plus a tentative sub list) shall be submitted at the annual meeting or put with score sheet at first scheduled league game.

7.       A team can have up to nine (9) subs on their list.   Reminder again: Team must establish a “tentative” sub list for the good of fair play.  This list is “tentative” (along with a list of regulars) must be given to the league secretary to be published to all captains.  If a player is to be added to this list on an evening of play, either the league president or secretary must be called. (August 17, 2009)

8.       No new players will be allowed to shoot on a team the last sixth (6th) weeks of darts unless they are on the roster list.  All rosters must be turned in before the sixth (6th) last week of the season in order to qualify for any new players on their team if needed.  (Captains Meeting: August 18, 2008)

9.       Each team is allowed a maximum of three subs from their sub list per night.  Teams can play with 2-Regulars and 3-Subs.  To ensure no team is loading-up, no more than two subs who are not on the teams subs list may be used.  Indicate on your score sheet that a new sub is shooting.

10.   In times when most of the regular team is not available to play, it is in the best interest of the league to reschedule the match with the other team captain to eliminate any possibility of hard feelings.  Any postponed games shall be made up within three weeks of the scheduled date; otherwise if the captains can not set upon a mutual date, the league president will schedule the make-up games.  Each team must consist of six players.  A team may shoot with two regulars and three subs.

11.   No Women will be able to shoot in the men’s league.   NO EXCEPTIONS!  Results: Forfeiture of the games.  If the opposing team is caught allowing this – both teams will forfeit.

13.   In the event that a team is short players and has to shoot with four (4) players, six (6) games will be played. Two (2) per person on the six (6) man team, and three (3) per person on the four (4) man team.

14.   If a team is short one (1) player, a rotation of a player will be allowed.  The opposing team will pick the player they wish to shoot each game.  The opposing team may pick one (1) player to shoot all three (3) games or up to three (3) different players.

15.   The required amount of money must still be turned in or that amount short will be deduced from that team’s prize money.

16.   Score given by the machine is the final score.  Dart thrown and no score given, stays as no score on that dart.  Assume that the machine is always right.

17.   The “Player Change” button shall be pushed before darts are removed from the board.  The dart board is not to be moved once league shooting has started.

18.   Players must use personal or bar darts.  No broken, cut-off, or steel tips allowed.  No blow darts allowed.

19.   For the first game only, the visiting team will have the choice of shooting first (players 1 & 3) or to go second (players 2 & 4). After that, the team that lost the previous game will have their choice.  The rotation will be done by the Visiting team  (1-1; 2-2; 3-3)  (1-2; 2-3; 3-1)  (1-3; 2-1; 3-2).

20.   Each player is responsible for their number on the machine.   In the event a player shoots on another’s score, the machine will be reset to the right player’s number.  The player that shot out of turn will lose those numbers of points, but will be allowed to shoot on their right number.  The points scored on the other players number will remain there.

21.    In the event of a tie score, the team that went out will lose that game and no “out” will be awarded (“out awarded” for Men’s League only).

29.   Score sheets and money must be turned into Weenies that night or by 6:00 pm the following day. The visiting team is responsible for the score sheet and the money put into the envelope and being turned in on time, since they are the traveling team.  A five-dollar ($5.00) fine will be charged to any team not turning the envelope within the specified time.

30.   The cost of shooting darts will be five dollars ($5.00) per person, per night. ($1.50 will go into the machine for shooting; $2.00 will go for prize money; $1.50 for the banquet)

31.   Only the first night will it cost each player $8.00, to offset league expenses.

32.   If the machine is impaired, the game must be played over, or made up by the following week.  If the bar has two boards, you can move to the other board to finish the game.

33.   Our league is divided into two halves to give all teams a chance for a play-off position.  All play-offs are played at a neutral league bar. If there are an odd number of teams, highest percentage will be used to determine each half winner; otherwise with an even number of teams, most wins will determine winner.

34.   If a bar has more than one board, the home team has their choice of boards.  Please check with the home team before practicing.  Dart board distance is eight (8) feet from the face of the board.  If a team notices that the line if different, that round should be finished before changing.  This way it is fair to all players.

BANQUET:  (Held the Thursday after playoff week at the Darboy Club)

1.       Increase Prize Money Payouts: Keep only $500.00 to carry over into the next year.  This way, we will carry only a $500.00 balance and all teams will share equally in the overage.  Teams playing this year will benefit from the monies this year.  Keep savings account balance at around $500.00 to carry over into the next year by adjusting payouts at banquet. Agreed to leave extra after banquet in the savings account instead of paying everyone a small amount like 2008-2009 payout of $18.07.

2.       All prize money and trophies will be given out at the banquet. . Effective with the 2010-2011 Season:  Teams will receive money for their placing position not for their wins. This is a fun league and this should eliminate the big difference in payouts between the first and last place teams. (August 16, 2010).

Example of payout at $10 increments for fourteen teams with total payout at about $6,000:

1st Place: $488; 2nd: $478; 3rd: $468, 4th: $458, 5th: $448, 6th: $438, 7th: $428, 8th: $418, 12th: $378; 13th: $368 and 14th: $358.

3.       Teams will have their choice of trophies, cash or something matching:

Cash as is:  team first place: $150.00; team second place: $120.00.

Hat Tricks, Nine-Dart or Less-Outs:  First place: $25.00; Second place: $20.00.

4.       Method of Handling Door Prizes at Banquet:

a. Winners must be present to receive a door prize.  No one will be allowed to get a door prize for another player.  Object is to use the door prizes to keep people at the banquet.

b. Everyone who has shot twelve (12) times or more will be eligible for the drawings.

c. All Captains will help in getting door prize awards from their dart sponsors’ and any other merchants they can get door prizes from.  The more prizes, they better chance of all getting a door prize.  The Awards need to be dropped off at Pop In Again by April 16th, two weeks before the banquet.

Captains will take turns drawing and handling the awarding of the prizes. Must be present to win. Captain will draw the names; Winner will draw a chip from another Captain; Chip will be given to a Chip Captain; and The Chip Captain will direct the winner to which table that they may choose an award
